My mom and dad are both incredible home cooks. My dad makes a mean steak & sauce and my mom’s barbecue shrimp, lasagna, and pecan tart are outta this world. Their kitchen is dreamy and their cookbook collection is one of the greatest.
My kitchen chronicles began with baking cookies and cakes and has since expanded to *attempting* to cook anything and everything that looks tasty. My favorite meal to cook is breakfast – I love frying, flipping, boiling, poaching, scrambling, frittata-ing as many eggs as I possibly can. In my ideal world, every meal would have the perfect balance of yolky eggs, ripe avocado, and crusty bread – this can come in any form, mind you, stacked upon each other in a BLT, tossed together in a salad, or even the quintessential Avotoast with an over easy egg on top. Each and every one of those is heavenly to me.
